As I got older and learned it was okay to stay inside, I appreciated peace and quiet. I didn’t always get it with Spot or Isis around. Ali didn’t always make that much noise. She at least could keep busy and quiet. So, she wasn’t a real problem once she mastered how to take care of me.
I am glad Isis was there to play with Spot after a while and the two of them left me alone. They seemed to understand that I needed my peace and quiet. For that I am grateful.
Day 18 of the creativity residency. Ali and Matteo are feeling more comfortable with each other and glad the tiny houses Chase and Flighty occupy have better sound proofing.

Cats are limber. It’s a true fact about us and something I know my girl likes to watch. We lack a true collarbone which humans have. This makes us much more flexible. It gives us the ability to right ourselves when we’re falling to land on our paws. This lack of collarbone gives us the ability to squeeze through tight places. We just have to judge if it’s possible with the size of our heads.
Ever wonder why cats leave the house for a while? We just want an adventure that can only be found outside. Unfortunately, that could mean getting into a fight with another cat. Or it could be the beginning of a wonderful friendship. Or getting chased by dogs or mean humans. Perhaps we shouldn’t, but we are independent and do like a change of scenery sometimes.
I used to enjoy being outside, but then I got old and knew my girl would take good care of me. So, I stayed inside for my safety and peace.
I never met Nuri in person, but I know she currently lives with Ali. I’m sure Nuri wants what I always wanted—a safe and stable home with Ali. Perhaps another cat to play with. Nuri is quite friendly and playful. Too playful for me, but she would have loved playing with Spot or Isis. That’s fine with me. I do hope Nuri gets all she wants. She is definitely a cat who deserves it all.
Now if Ali could just deliver it, things would be great.
Like humans, cats have blood groups such as A or B or even AB. Blood group A is the most common. A cat’s blood group is determined by genes. As a cat, I don’t know why this would be important, but my girl tells me it could be important if the cat needs a blood transfusion and then the blood group will determine if the donor blood can be accepted.
I never knew what my blood group is. It was probably A, but that doesn’t matter now. I don’t need blood where I’m at. I doubt most cats would care what their blood groups are. It’s just not something we think about or even consider.

I have celebrated Xmas with my girl and Spot before. We might get some toys from Santa Claws. My girl tried to decorated a little tree that Spot would knock down. So, she didn’t keep doing that after a while. She would usually give us a can of tuna each. One Xmas, we had Isis too and she asked for a can of tuna, which Ali gave to her immediately.
That was the best Xmas. We had Ali all day and we each had a can of tuna. We didn’t need anything else.
Many humans think cats can’t be taught to do anything as dogs can. Well, it’s not entirely true. We can be taught anything if we want to learn. Let me stress that again. Cats can be taught anything if we want to learn them. Otherwise, you’re just being a silly human.
Some cats like to get attention from doing acrobatics and so they learn to jump through hoops, walk on balance beams and the like. We can even learn to play a piano. Or to eat with utensils. Or use a toilet inside of a litter box.
Well, my girl tried to teach me to use the toilet and I refused. I’m sticking with the box. Perhaps Spot could have learned to use a toilet, but I was unwilling and then my girl gave up. I’m glad she figured it out that I wasn’t interested and didn’t want to learn. I’d worry if she didn’t get that message.
