We are having an online auction/fundraiser for a week. We need to get funding to pay the staff, contributors, and featured monthly charities for one year. We just have three ebooks for sale. Please consider supporting our cause as we get ready for the magazine’s launch in January 2019.
Auction starts October 23, 2018 at noon Eastern Daylight time.
Auction ends October 31, 2018 at 1 p.m. Eastern Daylight time.
We have a gofundme account to accept donations to get this magazine going. We had enough donations so far to get this site up and running, but we need more to pay the staff and contributors. We will also need more to pay the featured monthly cat charities.
We are looking for individuals and company donors to keep this site running. If you are an individual, we can list your name or leave you as anonymous on our Donor page. If you are a company, we will list you with your website on our Donor Page and list you in our monthly financial report every month you donate to us.
Please consider helping us to bring entertaining stories about cats written by cats and tips on care, while helping out cats all around in the world in need.
We have launched the new website for this new online magazine at Sir Socks Le Chat. Emperor Julian will be a featured column as well as cat care questions will be answered…
Hello there, my name is Julius, and I’m the emperor of this household. Even though I’m orange, I’m not actually named after an Orange Julius, as appropriate as that might be. My mom is obsessed with Romans (as well as cats), so she named me after Julius Caesar. I chose her to be my human two years ago because I was tired of living in a crowded, noisy shelter where there was no good food. My old humans just left me there when I was a kitten and never bothered to come back for me. Before Clarabelle came along, another human adopted me and returned me because they couldn’t deal with my vivacity. But I did a good job charming Clarabelle–she adopted me immediately and took me home without a second thought!
Even though I’m an emperor and have to constantly remind my subjects that I’m in charge (breakfast is served every day at 5 am, no exceptions), I’m a kind, benevolent ruler and make sure my subjects know they are loved and appreciated. I love snuggles and cuddles, so I make the most of every opportunity I have to be near my human. When she’s sitting down, I sit in her lap; when she’s in bed, I snuggle with her; when she’s in the bathroom, I sit near her; when she walks around the house, I follow her. I never bite or scratch her because she is kind to me and I am kind in return. The only problem I have with her is that she tries to hinder some of my activities, which is frustrating. She doesn’t like it when I search for goodies in the trash can or when I steal things out of her purse, and she doesn’t let me eat plastic or tape, even though it tastes amazing. She also sometimes serves my breakfast late, which makes me extremely angry, but I always forgive her because she is so nice to me.
I’m very happy with my empire as it currently is, and I hope it stays this way. I never expected that I could end up as such a happy and successful emperor.
My surname has changed too many times that I can’t even keep track of. I don’t know what my mother’s surname was, even though I know who she is. She raised me and my three brothers until we were old enough to fend for ourselves. She kept us safe in a wood pile in a backyard.
I’ve had many adventures and several homes since that time. I’ve been to the vet and hated it every time. That’s where the name changes tended to occur. It just all depended upon which human was claiming responsibility for me at the time of each visit.
Well, to make things simpler and easy for everyone, my girl gave me the surname of Le Chat, which is simply French for the cat.
I am a cat. The surname fits me and reflects my girl’s influence on me.
I am a cat who has lived through too many adventures. I want to share them with the world and perhaps I can help out other cats who feel so alone in this big world. I also want to know how I really feel about my life and my girl who takes such good care of me.
Actually, if it weren’t for her, I’d still be on the street more often than not. She looks after me, despite her silliness and teasing, and I feel safe. I know she loves and adores me. Now, I live inside all the time. I still look outside, but I’d rather stay inside where I’m safe and well loved.
I know I have forgiven her for bringing in a kitten into our home years ago. At first I was angry, but my girl was right. The kitten was living on the street and he was so clueless. If it weren’t for me, he wouldn’t know anything about being an upstanding cat.
So, not only do I get to write my memoirs, but cat charities around the world can also benefit from donations. My girl and I still need some money for ourselves and our little family, but we aren’t asking for much. Just our basics as we work on this website together. The rest we will give to a featured monthly cat charity somewhere in this big world of ours. We will report monthly where the money goes.
I hope you will enjoy my adventures and support us and our mission.
I know I was claimed by cats early on. According to the Chinese calendar I was born in the year of the tiger. When my biological mother was pregnant with me, she used to have vivid dreams that she was trapped in a cage with tigers clawing at her stomach.
I don’t recalling living with any cats when I was younger. I was told we had one when I was 5 years old. I don’t remember him at all. Perhaps he wasn’t around long enough. The story goes the babysitter let the cat out and he never came back. Perhaps we weren’t kind enough to him?
I do remember interacting with other cats as a child. I wasn’t always nice to them. They let me know real fast that they weren’t tolerating my bad behavior and bad treatment of them. So, I learned early to respect them.
Now I know they have claimed me without any doubts. I cannot live without one. I tried it for a few months and it was awful. I won’t do it again. Ever.
So, running this website, mainly in the background, is a way for me to give back to cats who have claimed me while I was still in the womb.
Currently there is only one cat tales book. Cat Tales of the Frisky9 Scarf Army, which features the cats who have received Frisky9 scarves and the humans who knit the scarves. The royalties from the book goes to Dingo Venezia, located in Venice, Italy.
However, I’m looking to do more of these cat tales books, but I will need a cat charity to receive the royalties and a group of cats to share their stories.
When more books are released, they will be promoted on this site. I will also write up articles once a month stating how many copies and how much money each book has raised.
