We cats do stare. We’re not ashamed of doing so. We just find everything our humans do quite fascinating. We stare to learn who you are. We stare to learn what we can get away with. We stare without blinking which tends to unnerve people. Especially with our quiet ways. You never know what we are thinking as we stare. Rest assured, we know our favorite humans quite well because we stare at them quite often.
Peace & Quiet
As I got older and learned it was okay to stay inside, I appreciated peace and quiet. I didn’t always get it with Spot or Isis around. Ali didn’t always make that much noise. She at least could keep busy and quiet. So, she wasn’t a real problem once she mastered how to take care of me.
I am glad Isis was there to play with Spot after a while and the two of them left me alone. They seemed to understand that I needed my peace and quiet. For that I am grateful.
Being Shy Can Cause Others to Overlook You
I wish it wasn’t true. I know it’s true though. Sometimes even cats get overlooked because we’re shy. In my case, I can be fast and I know how to hide. But in my girl’s case, people just like to overlook her because she’s not outgoing enough for them. I don’t understand that attitude.
Being shy shouldn’t cause this reaction. I know we don’t always want to be around others, but does that mean we ask to be overlooked? No, it doesn’t. I know I’m quiet. I still have things to say and write about. I have much to contribute when given a chance with people I feel comfortable with.
Being shy doesn’t mean we don’t know anything and aren’t capable. If anything it’s the quiet ones who know more and are more capable than the ones who just boast. We don’t feel the need to boast about what we know and can do. We just do and go on with our lives quietly.
So, the next time you feel inclined to overlook someone shy, stop and realize they may not feel comfortable sharing with you because they don’t know you very well. It will take time for us to open up. It can’t be done with the snap of your fingers. But we are worth the time and trouble as my girl can say about me.
Cat Quotes 3:09

If animals could speak the dog would be a a blundering outspoken fellow, but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much. —Mark Twain
I’ve known a lot of cats in my life and I can say they don’t usually talk unless they have something to say. I’ve had more talkative cats that bordered on too much, but then they would stop and there would be peace and quiet. I do like how quiet cats are.
Dogs I have noticed don’t alway stop talking and take it too far.
The smallest feline is a masterpiece. —Leonardo da Vinci
Of course every feline even the smallest one is a masterpiece. They are graceful and have that hard to identify quality which many humans tend to lack. It’s one of the many reasons cats make wonderful little companions.
