Head Butts

When a cat approaches a human and head butts the human, it’s a form of affection. It’s a way for the cat to tell the human how they feel. It is just one of the many things a cat will do to a human to tell the human the cat loves them. It’s not a form of abuse. Cats tend to play rough each other and their favorite humans. Cats tend to treat their favorite humans as honorary cats. That’s why cats give their favorite humans head butts.

Living with Humans

Living with humans isn’t always great, but from what I hear, it’s better than living outside. I’ve never lived outside very long. Just that time I was so mad about the kitten, but eventually my girl convinced me to go back home with her.

I did and I haven’t regretted it since. At least she never had many other humans in our home as other humans I used to live with. Before her, I wasn’t as loved and cherished. I was the cat who was ignored. She changed that.

So, if you’re a cat and you’re lucky enough to get a devoted human, take them when they come. Your life will be blessed and much safer than if you have to fend for yourself and on your own.

Cats Like to Socialize

As a cat I can tell you we do like to socialize. It’s a myth to believe we are so independent that we won’t interact with you. Speaking for myself, I am shy so I don’t like to be around strangers. I got so used to my girl that I don’t mind talking to her or cuddling with her. Just like others, I need to socialize. It helps when I’m comfortable with others. But it takes me time to get to know people. It doesn’t matter if they are cats or humans. I need to take it slow.

I’m so glad my girl understands this about me. That’s why when she decided to have a little birthday party for herself, she gave me a place where I could hide and no one bothered me. Isis, on the other paw, is very outgoing and she greeted and interacted with everyone who stopped by. That’s just how she is. It’s better that she did so and enjoyed it. I could never play host.

We cats do like to socialize, but it depends on how shy or outgoing we are as to how much we want to socialize and with whom we will socialize. Please remember that if you decide to live with us.

Cats & Humans

What is it about the combination of cats and humans? I’ve asked myself many times. Too many humans are annoying and don’t like me. They think I’m too whiny. But not my girl. She always thought I had legitimate complaints. She did her best to take care of the problems and make my life more comfortable. She has succeeded so well that I don’t need to talk all the time anymore.

Hmm. I suppose some combinations of cats and humans work out well. I would hope if the cat is a familiar to a witch that those combinations are good too. Helping out everyone on this planet. Bringing love and healing to those who need it. Otherwise what would be the point? I’m not into destruction. I’m into building. Strong, sturdy relationships which will last throughout time and across death. Beyond death itself. I want bonds that last and won’t dissolve when one of us dies.

A Message From Sir Socks Concerning COVID-19

Sir Socks as himself

You humans have discovered a new virus that is highly contagious, spreads quickly, and practically none of you have immunity to it. Your scientists are working on a vaccine, but it’s not available now to prevent this crisis.

Some of you humans are on lockdown. I hope you have cats (and you’re not allergic) or even a dog. We can and will keep you from being too lonely. Cats tend to purr and we help you when you’re sick. We will look after you.

If you’re extroverted, a lockdown will be hard on you. You won’t be able to go out unless you have to work or get food or medication. If you don’t live with others, then you can try going into virtual reality. No need to be socially isolated from others in this time of the pandemic.

If you’re introverted, please enjoy your solitude. You probably won’t need to worry about getting any hangovers from over socializing. Don’t forget to talk to your friends and relatives to keep them from getting lonely or feeling forgotten.

Oh, and don’t forget to take care of yourselves and us if you have us to look after. We can’t get this virus from you or give it to you. So, you don’t need to worry about that. Just stay calm and enjoy what time you have.

One more thing to my fellow cats: we need to take care of our devoted human servants or else we could end up back in the Cat Dark Ages. Let’s not go there. Let’s work together for everyone’s survival. We need each other in times like these.
