There is a theory about how cats purr. Perhaps the human scientists are right. They seem to think we have extra tissue in our voice boxes which vibrates. My girl has tried to imitate a purr, but it’s not that great because she doesn’t have the right voice box.
Scientists do know we purr at the same frequency as human babies. Perhaps that is why we can comfort humans with a purr they can’t ignore.
